About the Project
For a client running an office in Katowice, we designed and installed a CCTV surveillance system based on 8 Hikvision IP cameras from the ColorVu series. ColorVu technology delivers a full-colour image even in very low-light conditions, which was a key requirement of the investor — the surveillance system had to cover both the office interiors and the outdoor car park.
The system is built around the Hikvision DS-7616NI-K2/16P network video recorder with a built-in PoE switch, which simplifies cabling — the cameras are powered directly from the recorder via CAT6 network cable. We installed two WD Purple 4TB hard drives in a RAID 1 configuration, guaranteeing the security of recordings even if one drive fails. With continuous recording, the capacity allows footage from 30 days to be stored.
The client has full access to live and archived footage through the Hik-Connect app on a smartphone and via a web browser. The system was also integrated with the existing alarm system, enabling automatic visual verification in the event of an alarm.
